The Hull Identification Selection (HIN) is actually a twelve- or fourteen-character serial selection that uniquely identifies a ship. The HIN is analogous to some VIN on a vehicle.
The main three digits are classified as the Maker’s Identification Code (ex. Boat manufacturer such as Sea Ray, Meridian, and so on.). The 4 digits after that will be the producer’s serial variety for that boat. The 3rd and 4th digits through the conclusion are definitely the day of manufacture.
